Abbey After Dark 35th Festival Revelry •BALLOT•

We’re celebrating 35 years of the Abbey Medieval Festival by offering exclusive access for 350 guests into the Festival after dark, for an evening of entertainment and revelry at the Stag Inn.

EVENT INFORMATION

Once the gates close on Saturday, you will be invited back into the Festival after the sun has set to witness a special after-dark entertainment show at the castle arena, featuring a spectacular fire show and entertainment under the cover of darkness.

After the show concludes, guests will be ushered to the Stag Inn, for a night time revelry with a ‘flavours of the festival feast’.

The bar will be open for business for anyone wanting to empty their purses and fill their mugs.

It’s an event unlikely to return again, and you’re guaranteed to make some special memories to cherish for years to come.

HOW TO GET TICKETS

With only 350 tickets available – we’re ditching a release date, ticket queues and all that chaos and hassle and introducing a ballot system.

Register your interest for up to 4 tickets MAX to go in the ballot to be selected. 87 names will be drawn at random from the ballot on 20th May and given the opportunity to purchase up to 4 tickets within a timeframe.

If winners change their mind or don’t need all 4 tickets, we will run a second chance draw until all 350 tickets are confirmed.

TICKET PRICE: $195 pp. includes booking fee.

 

WHAT DO I GET?

  • Take your seat at the Castle Arena with a welcoming warm drink on arrival as you settle in for the show.
  • Experience a 1 hour evening entertainment with live fire performances at the Castle Arena.
  • Guided procession to the Stag Inn for 2 hours of merriment and music, as we entertain the night and lay out a Flavours of the Festival feast, an open-platter style service.
  • Bring your purse and exchange your coins for refreshing beverages at the bar of the Stag Inn

FAQs

Do I need to have a festival ticket?

You are NOT required to have a Festival ticket to attend this event, however this event is exclusive to the Castle Arena zone and Stag Inn location within the hours of 5pm – 8pm for guests over 18. You will not be permitted to roam the Festival site during this time.

Can I have more than 4 tickets?

To make this event available and fair opportunity for all, we’ve capped ticket allocation to 4 max. This is an 18+ event, so it may be time to determine who is your closest friends.

What if I don't see my ticket message before the purchase deadline?

We will email AND SMS ballot winners to advise you of your selection. We recommend you set a calendar reminder on the draw date to keep an eye out if your emails or sms end up in spam. Once the deadline expires, we will not be following up winners and will move to the second chance draw.

How will I get there?

We will have customised parking directions provided once tickets are purchased if you are not already at the Festival that day. Please be mindful you will be entering as majority of guests will be departing. We are also reviewing an evening shuttle service back to Caboolture train station but this depends on interest – we will ask you to confirm your travel intentions when buying your ticket so that we can plan accordingly.

What will I wear?

Dress warmly for the evening, as you will be seated in the field as the night rolls in while watching the Castle Arena entertainment. It gets chilly quickly! Please no large accessories (staffs, costume weapons, large hats or headpieces) for the comfort of yourself and guests in the Stag Inn.

I have tickets for Saturday and was chosen for the ballot - can I stay inside the Festival?

ALL guests will be ushered out of the Festival at closing time to allow us to reset the site for the next day. We recommend you return any shopping items or costume accessories to your vehicle and retrieve your evening cloaks and jackets. If you do not have a vehicle, we will have a holding zone located outside the Festival for you to rest and be merry before we reopen the special event gates.

I can't make this, can I resell on Tixel?

Due to limited and exclusivity of this event, and to avoid ticket hoarding, scalping and scammers, this event will NOT be available for resale on Tixel.

We recommend you take out ticket insurance as this event will be non-refundable.

Any valid tickets found being resold at a premium price will be voided and not refunded. Don’t be that guy.

350 in the Stag Inn? How will we fit?

If you’ve been to the Festival, you know the Stag Inn is bustling. This year, we’re extending the size of the Stag Inn area so it flows in and around the trees, increasing the capacity so more people can enjoy this space. While the new zone is not in sight of the stage, it still offers sounds and celebrations in a cosy corner to enjoy the vibes with friends. This event will be energetic and lively, like an end of day celebration with the townsfolk!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Ballot OPENS 13th May. Ballot closes 19th May 11.45pm. Drawn via randomiser program on Wednesday 20th May.

Due to venue and licencing this event is 18+

Due to limited capacity and a fully catered event, ALL attendees including carers accompanying an official Companion Card holder must have a paid event ticket.

An Email and SMS will be sent to successful ballot winners with an event access code and a single use purchase link to the Ticketebo event page to purchase by 11:59pm SUNDAY 24th May.

Important: Successful ballot winners will have opportunity to buy up to 4 tickets in one transaction. An access password provided will allow you into the ticketing site, and a single use redemption code will unlock the adjusted ticket price. The single use redemption code is for 1 transaction only, so if you redeem 2 tickets you can’t go back in and purchase another 2 tickets in another transaction. For fairness to all patrons please only purchase the number of tickets you intend to use. This event will NOT be permitted for resale or refund with Tixel. We recommend you purchase ticket insurance.

In the event of non payment by Sunday 24th May, the single use redemption code will expire and the next round (2nd chance) of ballots will be drawn for unclaimed tickets.

Maximum ballot access 4 tickets – 87 names drawn in first random draw.

Single ballot entry per person only.

All entries will be allocated a number and a randomiser will select 87 random ballot entries in draw 1.

Draw statistics will be published when ballot closes advising number of ballot entries for odds [eg. 1375 ballot submissions, draw 1 – 87 entries selected]

BALLOT SELECTIONS
An anonymous list will be published of successful ballot selections each draw for full  transparency and fairness as redacted emails and matching postcode – example: hello@abbeymuseum.com.au will be published as:

Ballot entries are submitted via Wufoo platform with spam and Bot verification (reCAPTCHA). A confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge receipt of your submission.

By submitting your details for the ballot you agree to receive SMS notifications if you are successful. Your submission opts you into marketing communications for the Abbey Museum. Once opted in you can opt out any time.

Participants are required to monitor both email and sms for outcome notifications. Two forms of notification will be sent – SMS and email. The Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology is not responsible for undelivered sms or emails.

Guests must adhere to the event terms and conditions. This event includes access to the Castle Arena during the scheduled entertainment and the Stag Inn. Guests are not permitted to access any other zones of the Festival (including but not limited to, Market area and encampments).
