GETTING TO ABBEYSTOWE

The Abbey Medieval Festival is held at Abbeystowe, an open field near the Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology in the Moreton Bay Region, Caboolture, South East Queensland. The address is 579 Old Toorbul Point Rd

Driving from Brisbane

Abbeystowe is roughly a 45-minute drive from Brisbane via the Bruce Highway. Patrons driving from Brisbane should take the Caboolture-Bribie Island exit off the Bruce Highway, then move into Bribie Island exit 152A.

Head for Bribie Island, following the signs for the Abbey Medieval Festival and turn left onto Old Toorbul Point Road, heading to 579 Old Toorbul Point Rd.

Driving from the Sunshine Coast

Take Pumicestone Road, Toorbul/Donnybrook exit 157 off the Bruce Highway, drive 1km east along Pumicestone Road and turn right onto McGarry Road. Follow the signs for the Abbey Medieval Festival.

Park and Ride

The Abbey Museum has secured a property nearby (on Pumicestone Rd) where our patrons can park and we have arranged free buses to transport you on the 5 minute trip to the festival site. (If you’re a local you may know this as the old Farm Fantastic site)

We encourage patrons to go directly to the Pumicestone Rd carpark (just off the highway) and catch the free shuttle bus from there.

and head to this direction and you’ll see the parking signs just nearby.

We’ve tested all Google Maps and iPhone Maps, and if you’re using Waze it will take you down Clinker road but once you get to the intersection you’ll see where to go.

*The courtesy bus service to Abbeystowe is not wheelchair accessible this year. However, we are listening to community feedback and are actively looking into wheelchair accessible scheduling and transport options for the future. Please make your way to the Disabled Parking.

Disabled Parking

Dedicated disabled parking will be available on site at the St Michaels school carkpark. Access off The Abbey Place, heading towards the Museum.

As you near the Museum you will see signage diverting you to the left.

It is 250m from the festival entrance.

Please have your permit on display for access.

Train Station Transfers

There is a direct train departing from Brisbane Central station arriving at Caboolture station operating every day. The journey takes approximately 47 min. For timetable information please go to Translink.

Courtesy Bus Shuttle from Train Station

courtesy bus service from Caboolture Train Station from Walter Street to the Abbey and return will be provided on Saturday and Sunday. The first bus leaves Caboolture to Abbey at 7:45am. Buses run throughout the day in 30 minute time slots with the last bus departing Caboolture at 5:15pm and the last bus departing Abbey is 5:45pm
