The Abbey Medieval Banquet will be hosted at the Great Hall at St Michael’s College, Caboolture, on Saturday 29 June 2024.

The Steward of the Hall, Sir Blair Martin, will guide patrons through an evening of feasting and entertainment, including music, pageantry and dance.

Doors open at 5:45pm. We request that all guests are seated by 6:15pm for the Banquet’s opening procession. On entering the Great Hall guests will experience a traditional medieval ritual of ‘washing of the hands’ with scented rosewater followed by a complimentary glass of mulled wine.

Tables are served in sections of eight guests (with four guests per side). Please see seating layout. Platters of food are placed in the centre to be shared. Food is eaten with knives and spoons or fingers where appropriate.

The Medieval Banquet menu consists of 2 removes (or courses), each consisting of several dishes, plus a final course called an ‘issue’. The menu will include a broad range and sumptuous quantities of authentic medieval food including dessert.

Guests can note dietary requirements (gluten free or vegetarian) when purchasing tickets. In keeping with the medieval experience, no further accommodations can be made for dietary requirements other than those stated.

The Medieval Banquet is a licensed venue. Wine, beer, cider and mead will be available for purchase.

Please note: This is NOT a BYO event.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO READ PRIOR TO BOOKING:

Separate bookings will not be seated together as all seating is allocated at time of booking.

To select your seats: There are 6 long tables. Please be aware that the blue strip represents a table (A, B, C, D, E or F), so please ensure you select your seats together.

Seats will sell in a row unless you choose your own seats on the map – “Buy on Map”. Please do not leave empty seats between bookings as seating is very limited and you may need to be moved to best accommodate all patrons.

Group bookings must be made in one transaction or you risk not being seated with your group. Separate bookings will not be seated together as all seating is allocated at the time of booking.

Accessible Seating: Please note, guests are seated on long wooden bench seats. To book a wheelchair accessible space, please ensure you select “Buy on Map” and select an end seat closest to the entrance. After you have purchased your tickets, please email us at events@abbeymuseum.com.au so that we can allow the space when setting up the Hall. We cannot provide accessible seating if you haven’t already purchased an end seat on the seating chart.

Guests are required to coordinate own transport.

Terms and Conditions apply.

MENU SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO PRODUCT AVAILABILITY.

Please note Gluten Free options will be available and catered for.

This event is hosted through Eventbrite. For any ticket queries please raise a question directly through Eventbrite.
